Meade Series 4000 Filters Color filters are essential for observing and imaging the moon and planets in tantalizing detail. The right filter can mean quite literally the difference between seeing several small craters in the floor of Clavius on the moon or not; seeing five or six swirls in Jupiter's north equatorial belt or not; seeing the inner crepe ring of Saturn or not. Depending on atmospheric conditions on Earth and the planet being observed (or photographed) the advantage of color filters can be anywhere from subtle to dramatic. Meade Series 4000 filters offer 26mm of clear aperture and are manufactured from the purest optical glass dyed-in-the-mass (not color coated) There are no finer filters available for telescopic applications. They thread into the barrels of virtually any brand of 1.25 eyepiece as well as the 1.25 Meade Basic Camera Adapter. They may also be stacked to achieve selective filtration of the visual color spectrum. Each Series 4000 filter is packed in a foam-fitted plastic case for safe long-term storage. #12 Yellow (74% Transmission) Adds contrast to blues and enhances reds and yellows on Jupiter and Saturn increases contrast on Mars and the moon (in scopes 6 plus) #23A Light Red (25% Transmission) Enhances detail in polar regions of Jupiter Saturn and Mars (in scopes 6 plus). Also increases contrast between Mercury and evening sky. #58 Green (24% Transmission) On telescopes 8 plus this green increases belt structure on Jupiter and Saturn's surface and in Saturn's rings. Also enhances Mars' ice caps. #80A Blue (30% Transmission) A popular filter for enhancing spiral features in Jupiter's cloud belt (including Red Spot) and adding contrast to Saturn and the moon. #11 Yellow-Green (78% Transmission) Contrasts with red and blue features on Jupiter and Saturn. Darkens the maria on Mars. Clarifies the Cassini division in Saturn's rings. #25A Red (14% Transmission) Dark red bl Multi-use telescope Carrying Case for 8 For professional-level stability! Meade's LX80 is the only mount that gives you both plus one more - three computerized GoTo Mounts for the price of one. The new line of LX80 telescopes with Multi-Mount is the most innovative and versatile mid-range telescope system available anywhere. Meade LX80 Multi-Mount The LX80 Multi-Mount operates in three modes German equatorial single OTA alt-az and dual OTA alt-az. Setting up in any mode is quick and easy. The LX80 is built around a solid aluminum structure with two large tapered roller bearings that handle radial and thrust loads on each axis to carry larger loads up to a total payload of 40 pounds in EQ and alt-az modes and up to 75 pounds in dual OTA mode. Its precision worm gear drives on both axes deliver smooth accurate motion and Meade's proprietary SmartDrive provides periodic error correction that dramatically reduces errors providing performance only available on much more expensive mounts. Both the primary and secondary OTA dovetail plates are industry-standard for maximum compatibility with all of your OTA's. The LX80 computerized GoTo mount is controlled with the amazing AudioStar handbox with Meade's exclusive Astronomer Inside audio descriptions of the objects you are viewing. LX80 Tripod With large two inch diameter stainless steel legs the all new LX80 tripod is rugged and stable. Built-in fine-tune leg levelers at the top of each leg make doing small adjustments the easiest they've ever been. The Meade LX80 Multi-Mount is a perfect way to get the best of all worlds from your telescope gear. Maybe one evening your dedicated for astrophotography - so a quick set-up for Equatorial mode and the LX80 telescope mount is ready to deliver excellent tracking fo Astrozap focusing caps with integrated Bahtinov focusing wheelUnlike a simple Hartman or Bahtinov mask, the Astrozap focusing cap is a multi-purpose tool which allows for quick 'shutter-like' operation. Just turn the wheel to the open position for focusing, and then turn it again to the closed position to keep the dust out, or to image dark frames with your CCD or DSLR camera. The focusing wheel can be easily removed and replaced with an off-axis wheel for off-axis viewing, or an off-axis solar filter wheel for solar viewing on larger telescopes.Simply turn the thumbscrew to the open position, and turn to close. No plastic plugs required, and no tools needed. Made from lightweight aluminum and powder-coated texture black.
