Telelescopes

Designed for the first time buyer - offering exceptional value the AstroMaster series features a compact and portable design with ample optical performance to excite any newcomer to the world of amateur astronomy.Which AstroMaster Telescope model best fits your needs? If you're looking for a dual-purpose telescope appropriate for both terrestrial and celestial viewing then the AstroMaster Series is for you. Each AstroMaster model is capable of giving correct views of land and sky. The AstroMaster Series produce bright clear images of the Moon and planets. It is easy to see the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn with every one of these fine instruments. For views of the brighter deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae we recommend the larger aperture and light gathering ability of the Newtonian reflectors. This telescope has an aperture of 90mm.The AstroMaster 90 EQ features a German Equatorial mount that will help you view stars nebulae star clusters and planets. A built-in setting circle aids in locating these objects. When used for astronomical viewing AstroMasters yield breathtaking views of the Moon Saturn with its ring structure Jupiter and its belts and moons nebulae and star clusters.Every instrument features all glass optical elements as well as smooth operating steel tripod mountings featuring manual motion controls. All models feature coated optics for enhanced image brightness and clarity. General Features:Quick and easy no-tool setupErect image optics - Ideal for terrestrial and astronomical useQuick release dovetail attachment - no tool setupGerman Equatorial mount with Setting circles - to accurately locate and track sky objectsRugged pre-assembled tripod with 1.25 Tele Vue is known for its in-house eyepiece and telescope designs by Al Nagler; our latest eyepiece brings new meaning to the term in-house. The concept for this eyepiece was first proposed by Tele Vue President David Nagler with performance parameters giving it the fundamental characteristics (the ethos) of a Tele Vue eyepiece: high contrast comfortable eye relief and full field sharpness. Control of astigmatism field curvature lateral color angular magnification distortion correction and low pupil sensitivity for daytime use were specified criteria. Following Tele Vues philosophy of pushing the state of the art long-time Tele Vue employee and optical design protg Paul Dellechiaie took up the challenge and designed the basic eyepiece form. Under Als guidance Paul tweaked his design to fulfill the original goals. While sharpness is inherent to the optical design contrast is maximized through the intelligent use of flat finished baffles and ultra low reflectance high efficiency coatings tuned to the composition of each element. At the 2007 Northeast Astronomy Forum Tele Vue once again broadened the amateur astronomer's perspective on the universe and introduced a new observing experience; 100 of pure Tele Vue quality. With a 13mm focal length evoking the original Nagler revolution the field area of this new eyepiece is more than 50% larger than an 82 field. The Tele Vue Ethos is essentially multiple eyepieces delivering the true field size of a longer focal length narrower apparent field eyepiece with the benefits of higher power and darker sky background. The 21mm focal length completes the logical set of 21mm/13mm/8mm and nicely juxtaposes the 17mm/10mm/6mm combination. Each step within these two sets approaches a 3x field area gain. The 21mm's effective field stop diameter is 36.2mm bringing its true field close to the 35mm Panoptic (38.7mm Field Stop diameter). Its true field is also larger than Meade 10 Inch LX200-ACF Advanced Coma-Free Telescope with UHTC The most widely used research telescope on earth now comes with the most advanced optical system. Meade's LX200-ACF brings Advanced Coma-Free (ACF) optics within reach of aspiring astronomers everywhere. Nearly every observatory reflector in the world uses an aplanatic (coma-free) optical system like the Ritchey-Chrtien (RC) including NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. Now you can own optics similar to what the professionals use. The LX200-ACF includes all the field-proven features of the LX200 including GPS Primary Mirror Lock Oversized Primary Mirror SmartDrive Smart Mount AutoStar II and more. The new LX200-ACF: It's the biggest news in astronomy since well the LX200. The advanced in Advanced Coma-Free.A traditional Ritchey-Chrtien (RC) is a type of reflector that delivers a coma-free flat field of view via hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors. RC telescopes (from a variety of manufacturers) are found in most of the world's top observatories and NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. Because the mirrors in these telescopes have always been very expensive to make few amateur astronomers could enjoy them. Fortunately Meade engineers developed a radical new Advanced Coma Free design by combining a hyperbolic secondary mirror with a corrector-lens-and-spherical-primary-mirror combination that performs as one hyperbolic element. This ACF design produces a coma-free flat field of view that rivals traditional RC telescopes at a fraction of the cost. The design even eliminates diffraction spikes and improves astigmatism both of which are inherent in the traditional ACF design. When reviewing Meade's LX200-ACF Advanced Coma Free Sky and Telescope magazine said It does indeed perform like a Ritchey-Chrtien. The difference between the off-axis images (compared to a Schmidt-Cassegrain) was dramatic to say the least. f/10 Advanced Coma-Free Optics: Building from a classi The Meade 8-inch Equatorial Wedge w/LX90 Adapter Plate will eliminate field-rotation effects when you're using your LX90 telescope for astrophotography. You can do astrophotography with the LX90 scopes in the standard altazimuth mode but for longer exposure times an effect called field rotation becomes evident. Stars at the edge of the field will appear as small concentric arcs or streaks on the film rather than as star points. This effect which does not relate to the accuracy of the telescope's computer or internal alignment occurs on all altazimuth-mounted telescopes. It's simply a side effect of the altazimuth-type mount itself. Preventing Field Rotation To prevent field rotation your LX90 can be polar-aligned by using the wedge. A wedge allows you to align the telescope's axis of rotation with the Earth's rotational axis. This eliminates the effects of field rotation and gets the streaks out. This wedge also can be used with an 8-inch LX200 telescope if purchased with a different adapter plate. An alternative to using a wedge is employing the field de-rotater. The de-rotater allows you to stay in altazimuth mode and correct field rotation for longer-exposure astrophotography and CCD imaging. A bestselling item by Zhumell the Eclipse 114 Reflector Telescope with motor drive offers ample power for deep-sky viewing. It's also very easy to use making it a perfect choice for the beginning astronomer yet advanced enough for the more technically adept. With its 114mm aperture this telescope gathers sufficient light for stunning lunar observation detailed stargazing and exciting planetary views. Equipped with motor drive this telescope automatically compensates for the rotation of the earth. That means once you locate your desired object no further adjustments are required. The celestial object will remain in the eyepiece's field of view without any of the vibrations associated with manual adjustments to disrupt your observation. With its user-friendly equatorial mount multi-coated optics for clear images tripod and clock motor drive all at an unbeatable price a beginning user truly can't go wrong with this telescope. There's even a full 3-year warranty from Zhumell to provide peace of mind.
