The Meade 8-inch Equatorial Wedge w/LX90 Adapter Plate will eliminate field-rotation effects when you're using your LX90 telescope for astrophotography. You can do astrophotography with the LX90 scopes in the standard altazimuth mode but for longer exposure times an effect called field rotation becomes evident. Stars at the edge of the field will appear as small concentric arcs or streaks on the film rather than as star points. This effect which does not relate to the accuracy of the telescope's computer or internal alignment occurs on all altazimuth-mounted telescopes. It's simply a side effect of the altazimuth-type mount itself. Preventing Field Rotation To prevent field rotation your LX90 can be polar-aligned by using the wedge. A wedge allows you to align the telescope's axis of rotation with the Earth's rotational axis. This eliminates the effects of field rotation and gets the streaks out. This wedge also can be used with an 8-inch LX200 telescope if purchased with a different adapter plate. An alternative to using a wedge is employing the field de-rotater. The de-rotater allows you to stay in altazimuth mode and correct field rotation for longer-exposure astrophotography and CCD imaging. For NexStar 4SE and for all C90 Spotting Scopes. A T-Adapter allows you to attach your 35mm SLR camera to the prime focus of your telescope or spotting scope. This arrangement is used for terrestrial photography and short exposure lunar and planetary photography. It can also be used for long exposure deep-sky photography when using a separate guidescope. Both a T-Adapter and T-Ring are required to mount a 35mm SLR camera to your instrument Starbeam - For Tele Vue Scopes - With Flip MirrorStarbeam's unique flip mirror feature provides comfort and flexibility for viewing at any angle from straight through to 90. Viewed straight through you see the natural sky with a 10 arc-minute (1/3 Moon diameter) Schmidt Cassegrain Desiccant Telescope Covers by Farpoint AstronomicalWhen Farpoint told us about this product - we thought this was a nifty idea. We can tell you from first-hand experience with this product that its one of the best accessories we have ever tested. After a long night of observing the end of the night tear-down is always the least fun. To keep that moisture off of your corrector plate when storing this product does exactly what it should. Farpoint custom manufactures a series virtually indestructible front covers for schmidt cassegrain telescopes. These highly impact resistant covers are made from ABS plastic which will not dent chip or deform in any way so they will always fit snugly and look their best. The cover has a full diameter felt seal to keel dust and dirt away from your telescope's delicate corrector plate. In addition the cover has a molded pocket that holds a rechargeable desiccant box. Now you can be free from worrying about moisture forming on your telescope's corrector plate when you pack up for the night! The desiccant box can regenerated in a microwave in just a few minutes (before you go out observing) and has a lifetime of thousands of uses. Finally the covers have a raised center section to provide clearance and impact protection for those who choose to use aftermarket secondary collimation knobs such as Meade 10 Inch LX200-ACF Advanced Coma-Free Telescope with UHTC The most widely used research telescope on earth now comes with the most advanced optical system. Meade's LX200-ACF brings Advanced Coma-Free (ACF) optics within reach of aspiring astronomers everywhere. Nearly every observatory reflector in the world uses an aplanatic (coma-free) optical system like the Ritchey-Chrtien (RC) including NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. Now you can own optics similar to what the professionals use. The LX200-ACF includes all the field-proven features of the LX200 including GPS Primary Mirror Lock Oversized Primary Mirror SmartDrive Smart Mount AutoStar II and more. The new LX200-ACF: It's the biggest news in astronomy since well the LX200. The advanced in Advanced Coma-Free.A traditional Ritchey-Chrtien (RC) is a type of reflector that delivers a coma-free flat field of view via hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors. RC telescopes (from a variety of manufacturers) are found in most of the world's top observatories and NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. Because the mirrors in these telescopes have always been very expensive to make few amateur astronomers could enjoy them. Fortunately Meade engineers developed a radical new Advanced Coma Free design by combining a hyperbolic secondary mirror with a corrector-lens-and-spherical-primary-mirror combination that performs as one hyperbolic element. This ACF design produces a coma-free flat field of view that rivals traditional RC telescopes at a fraction of the cost. The design even eliminates diffraction spikes and improves astigmatism both of which are inherent in the traditional ACF design. When reviewing Meade's LX200-ACF Advanced Coma Free Sky and Telescope magazine said It does indeed perform like a Ritchey-Chrtien. The difference between the off-axis images (compared to a Schmidt-Cassegrain) was dramatic to say the least. f/10 Advanced Coma-Free Optics: Building from a classi Capture the moment!Celestron's Universal 1.25-inch T-Adapter with integrated 2X Barlow lens will allow you to attach your 35mm SLR camera to your telescope or spotting scope. Then you can take magnified photos of earth-bound objects as well as lunar and planetary subjects. The adapter can also be used for long-exposure deep-sky photography when it's attached to a separate guidescope and its Barlow lens can be used with regular eyepieces to double their viewing power for visual applications.Celestron's Universal T-Adapter (drop-in style) fits any make telescope that uses a 1.25-inch focuser or visual back. Able to work seamlessly with a T-ring made specifically for your brand of camera (sold separately) it expands the utility of both camera and telescope. With it you'll capture the moment up close! Or simply watch it as it happens with a power-doubled eyepiece. --jtyl AZ4 Alt-azimuth mount features separate clutches on both the Altitude and Azimuth axes and a panning arm which can be fixed in two separate positions. The movements are buttery-smooth and telescopes can be manipulated with effortless precision. Telescope OTA is attached to the mount via a standard Sky-Watcher dovetail bar. Also supplied with this mount is an L-bracket which allows the easy attachment of a spotting scope or camera. Baader's new Steeltrack Premium Focusers incorporate a number of innovative features that further enhance the smoothness and robustness of the Crayford focuser. Steetrack focusers are available to fit practically every telescope from Refractors to Newtonians and SCTs. The precision ball bearings ride on hardened and polished stainless steel ways that are inset into the thick-walled aluminum drawtube. The large diameter pinion drive also rides on a precision laser cut hardened and polished steel way. This important feature delivers an ultra-smooth motion that is superior to to the rougher motions of an aluminum bearing system and guarantees that the buttery-smooth motions will remain that way over the life of the focuser. Crayford focusers that rely on machined and anodized aluminum bearing ways can become worn and pitted with use which results in loss of smoothness and accuracy. The extra-large focusing knobs and Precision 1:10 reduction gearing permits ultra-fine motion control without backlash. Precision Pinion Drive and Bearing Assembly delivers an exceedingly smooth slipless motion and avoids the drawtube flexure present in other crayford focusers. Each Steeltrack incorporates a drawtube locking screw that supports even extremely heavy cameras and eyepieces without flexure or slippage. The knurled lock screw incorporates a swivelling anti-marring brass insert that allows firm clamping of the drawtube without marring or damage to the focusing mechanism. Internal drawtube surfaces are knife-edge baffled to eliminate stray light reflections. Bronze compression rings permit secure clamping of eyepieces and accessories without marring. Baader Precision and Quality. All parts are precisely machined and their high surface quality make the Baader Steeltrack an attractive complement to any telescope. Graduated markings on the drawtube aid in measuring and repeating focus positions. A complete set of adapters and extensions permit adaptation onto practically a
